The Story

Oscar and the Blue Men is the story of Oscar the Orangutan who on his way to the moon pushes a button he should not. As a result he is violently ejected from his rocket-ship. He lands at the North Pole and here he meets A Blue man who helps him get back home again.

The Idea

The idea for Oscar and the blue men had its genesis in a game of Balderdash. The concept popped out as an explanation for the title: “The Blue Monkey:” The idea mouldered in the background while I pursued other projects: writing lyrics and producing an album for JETPILOT a band I was part of as well as drafting a novel. Having finished my other projects I went to visit my brother and sister in Australia. After playing the part of the dutiful uncle and reading stories to my niece and nephews, I decided to try my hand at writing a children’s Story. Oscar and the Blue Men is the result of that effort.
